Coleopterological Research Centre
The Coleopterological Research Centre carry out studies on systematics, taxonomy, morphology, fauna and biogeography of beetles (Coleoptera). The Centre regularly organizes expeditions in Latvia and abroad. The Coleopterological Research Centre issues the “Baltic Journal of Coleopterology” (www.bjc.sggw.waw.pl) science journal, indexed in international databases. World beetle collection is created and the databases of ground beetle (www.carabidae.pro) and longhorn beetle (www.cerambycidae.org) are maintained.

– Distribution, taxonomy, ecology and biodiversity protection of the fauna of the Baltic beetles (Coleoptera).
– Research on the fauna of the Philippine island beetles (Coleoptera).
– Global fauna, biogeography, taxonomy and systematics of the families of the Carabidae, Silphidae, Staphylinidae, Chrysomelidae, Curculionidae.
– Morphology studies of beetles (Coleoptera) using confocal laser scanning microscopy and X-ray microscopy techniques.
